Dr. Kevin B. Wynne
Dr. Kevin Wynne earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a Chemistry minor from St. John Fisher College in 1988. He graduated Cum Laude from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1992, receiving honors in academics, clinical care, and leadership. His clinical rotations included Hahnemann Medical School and John F. Kennedy Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Wynne joined the Pittsford office in 1992 alongside Dr. David Jordan and Dr. Frederick Fouquet. In 1994, he became NYS certified as a Low Vision Specialist and joined the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Rochester, where he provided exceptional care for patients with specialized vision needs. In 1996, he earned the prestigious title of Fellow from the American Academy of Optometry, a distinction held by fewer than 10% of optometrists, reflecting his unwavering commitment to excellence.
By 1997, Dr. Wynne became a Clinical Associate at Strong Hospital, overseeing the CMV Retinitis Eyewatch Program and participating in AIDS clinical trials. He also contributed similarly at the AIDS Community Health Network, ensuring high standards of care in challenging cases.
A lifelong learner dedicated to quality care, Dr. Wynne has pursued over 50 hours of continuing education annually for more than 26 years. He has lectured to school groups, seniors, optometric societies, and surgical residents while authoring articles in prominent publications such as Primary Care Optometry News and Optometry Today. He also co-authored a papers in the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
In 2023, Dr. Wynne completed extensive advanced coursework to expand the scope of care he is able to provide for his patients. He successfully expanded his New York State optometric license to include the authority to prescribe oral medications for the treatment of many viral, bacterial, and inflammatory eye diseases, allowing him to provide more comprehensive care within the optometric setting. Following his advanced training, he successfully completed the New York State Board examination for Oral Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents, earning one of the highest examination scores in New York State. This achievement reflects his ongoing commitment to continuing education, clinical excellence, and providing his patients with the highest level of modern, comprehensive eye care.

Personal Bio
Dr. Kevin B. Wynne
Dr. Kevin Wynne has dedicated his career to providing exceptional eye care while building lasting relationships with generations of families in the Rochester community. He believes that caring for patients goes beyond prescribing glasses or contact lenses—it means taking the time to listen, educate, and help every patient achieve their best possible vision.
A lifelong advocate for mentorship and community involvement, Dr. Wynne spent five years serving as a Cub Scout Den Leader before becoming an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 110 in Webster. One of his proudest moments was watching his son, Peter, earn the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Peter went on to excel as a member of the SparX Robotics Team and Science Olympiad before graduating from Purdue University and is now an Automation Engineer in the Rochester area.
Dr. Wynne's daughter, Ashley, graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Psychology and has made Denver her home. She operates her own talent agency. Dr. Wynne and his wife, Elizabeth, are proud "Papa" and "Gramma" to Ashley's daughter, Acadia ("Cadi"), who brings endless joy to the family.
Married since 1988, Dr. Wynne and Elizabeth have built both a wonderful family and a thriving practice together. Elizabeth serves as the practice's Office Manager and insurance specialist, ensuring the office runs efficiently while creating the warm, welcoming atmosphere that patients have come to appreciate. Together, they are committed to providing personalized, compassionate care to every patient who walks through their doors.
Outside the office, Dr. Wynne embraces challenges that require dedication, discipline, and perseverance. An avid endurance athlete, he began his triathlon journey with the 2009 Pittsford Triathlon and has since competed internationally in Ironman® 70.3 events. He is also a Tough Mudder finisher and earned his Black Belt in Muay Thai from Shogun Martial Arts in 2014.
In 2024, Dr. Wynne rekindled another lifelong passion—music. He joined a progressive rock band and has since performed at venues from Pittsburgh to Syracuse. Today, he is playing with a new band and looks forward to performing at local venues throughout the Rochester area and beyond.
Whether he's helping patients achieve clearer vision, mentoring young people, training for endurance events, or performing on stage, Dr. Wynne brings the same enthusiasm, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence to everything he does. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community he calls home and looks forward to welcoming both new and longtime patients to the practice.
