The past six months have been a challenge to all of us, a challenge none of us ever dreamed we would have had to face.  I am asked on a daily basis how we are doing?  After several weeks of emergency care only, we have been holding up well, thanks to you, our patients.  We feel fortunate to come to work each day, while many in our society had to suffer much greater delays and many still do.  During our downtime, we learned what we could about COVID-19 and  re-tooled our office to make it the safest possible environment to take care of our patients.  In the past six months we have seen nearly all of the patients we would have normally seen and I am confident it has been safe for the patients, staff and myself.  It is not commonly known that I have a great deal of experience working in the field of infectious diseases.  For many years I was an eyecare consultant in the Department of Infectious Disease at Strong as well as at Community Health Network.  The many years I spent in these clinics taught me about proper protocols as well as how to care for patients with infectious disease and I am grateful for that experience.  While the future is still cloudy with COVID, I am optimistic that things will improve as vaccines become available and herd immunity grows.  In the interim, I would like to again say thank you to all our wonderful and loyal patients who have trusted us in providing care for them and meeting their optical needs in these challenging times.
